Tokyo Textile Design Series

A few months ago, I enrolled myself in a Textile Design Course in one of Manila's top fashion schools. If you know me well, I've pretty much dedicated most of my time in high school & college advocating for environmentally sustainable textiles. That's why as soon as I learned that SoFA was offering a new short course for 2015, I instantly booked myself a slot.

The classes took about two and a half months to finish-- each session I'd enthusiastically attend of course! It was more than a crash course to textile design. My classmates and I were able to really learn about the rudiments of textile making-- the science & math behind it. Despite the fact that I have a Fine Arts background, textile design was no easy feat.

For our final project, we were tasked to create a mini collection of designs that can be applied to a series of products. Since I just came from Japan two weeks before our deadline, I opted to dedicate my work to a Tokyo-inspired collection.
